Mid-stage Energy Catalyst Award project kicks off

A busy week at ACT Blade as the Mid-stage Energy Catalyst Award project kicks off in Edinburgh. This follows on from the results of a previous Early stage Catalyst project which successfully validated the potential energy production gains (+9.7%) in wind power generation and the reduction in the levelized cost of energy (-8.7%) associated with our innovative blade design. Now, with this InnovateUK award, we hope to test an actual prototype of our ACT Blade in a simulated environment, in order to verify our predictions. We will be collaborating in this with Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult and the University of Glasgow. Together, we have the necessary technical expertise, engineering skills and commercial knowledge to make the project a success.
